Teams in Virtual Environments
Using Microsoft Teams in virtual environments can be slightly different from what you're accustomed to, as it has been "optimized" for such settings. While the interface may look familiar, certain features like multiple video feeds, background blurring, and screen sharing can sometimes cause issues, particularly affecting the experience on the other end.
Best Practices for Using Teams In or Out of Your Workspot Virtual Machine:
- For Chatting or Quick Calls: If you need to chat (DM) or make a quick call (even with video) with just one or a few people, it is fine to use Teams inside your Workspot virtual machine. However, avoid screen sharing to prevent potential connection issues.
- For Screen Sharing or Larger Meetings: If you need to share your screen or if there are multiple participants using video, it is recommended to run Teams outside of your Workspot virtual machine to ensure a smoother experience.
Other Meeting and Video Conferencing Software
Similar to Teams, other meeting and video conferencing software such as Webex, Zoom, and Google Meet work best when joining on a laptop, not Workspot. If you need these installed, please reach out to support@eua.com.
